A replica Rolex GMT-Master II is a counterfeit watch that copies the design of Rolex's dual-time pilot model. Prices run from about $35 for a quartz copy to $600 or more for a mechanical "super clone." Importing or selling one in the United States is illegal.   3. High tier, $350 to $700. Sellers call these "1:1" or "super clone." Ceramic bezel insert, engraved rehaut, movement built to copy the 3186 or 3285 layout.

Ads that promise a "Swiss ETA" inside a replica are false in most cases. Seller photos show Chinese-made clones.

Legal Status in the US

18 U.S.C. § 2320 makes trafficking in counterfeit goods a federal crime. A first offense carries up to 10 years in prison and a $2,000,000 fine for an individual. Trademark owners can file civil suits under the Lanham Act for damages and lost profits. CBP seizes counterfeit watches at entry and destroys them. Four Inspection Points

These are the checks that separate a counterfeit from a genuine GMT-Master II when both sit on a table.

  • Rehaut. Rolex engraves "ROLEX" around the inner ring at 12 o'clock intervals. Copies show uneven letter spacing and shallow cuts.

What Buyers Cannot Verify

Replica sellers change suppliers. A batch reviewed in March may ship with a different movement in June. Accuracy, water resistance, and spare parts are unknown. Genuine Rolex watches have a global service network with published parts. A counterfeit has no service path, no warranty, and resale value near zero. Water resistance claims on replicas are untested. A 100m rating on a copy should not be trusted near water.

Nothing here changes the legal position. A counterfeit GMT-Master II is an infringing product in the US, and possession during import can lead to seizure and forfeiture.
