Replica IW329013 watches are steel pilot watches built by third party factories in China and sold through online dealers. Prices run from about $90 for a quartz model to $450 or more for a version sold with a Swiss label movement. The genuine reference is an IWC Schaffhausen pilot watch. Spec sheets for the original should come from IWC, because reference details change with production year.
What the reference is
IW329013 sits in IWC's pilot watch range. Pilot references in this number block use a round steel case, a black dial, white printed numerals, and a date window at 3 o'clock. Case size runs 40 mm to 41 mm. Lug width is 20 mm on most examples. Rep factories copy those numbers when they cut a case, so a caliper check shows how close the copy sits.
Case, crystal, and dial checks
Measure case diameter and thickness with calipers. A case under 10 mm thick points to a low tier build with a quartz or a thin automatic inside. Check lug width, crown diameter, and the gap between crown and case. Top tiers use sapphire with an inner anti reflective coating. Budget models use mineral glass. Indexes should be applied, not painted. Under a loupe, index edges should be sharp and the date font should match the original.
Movement options
- Quartz: $90 to $150. Second hand ticks once per second.
- Sea-Gull ST2130 or Hangzhou 6300: $180 to $280. 28,800 vph.
- Miyota 9015: $220 to $320. Built by Citizen.
- ETA 2892 or Sellita SW300 clone: $350 and up. Marked Swiss, often assembled in China.
Ask the seller for the movement name and a photo of the rotor. A seller who will not name the movement is moving a $60 watch at a $300 price.
Water resistance
Most replicas of this reference carry a 30 m to 50 m rating. Factory gaskets sit dry. Have a watchmaker grease the caseback gasket and pressure test the case before you swim with it. Many replicas fail a 50 m test.
Legal note and resale
US law bans the sale and import of counterfeit goods. Customs and Border Protection seizes shipments and destroys them. IWC will not service or authenticate a replica. Resale value is close to zero.
